Who is Gukesh Dommaraju: Gukesh Dommaraju is of Telugu descent, born May 2006 in Chennai Tamilnadu also known as the name Gukesh D. born and raised in Chennai. His parents, both medical professionals, supported his an early age interest in the Chess, He is an Indian Chess Grandmaster who also surpassed the age of 12 at the World Change Championship and remains the third youngest grandmaster. He is the youngest Undisputed World Chess Champion and a chess prodigy. Gukesh is the youngest player to have surpassed at a chess’s FIDE rating of 2750 at the age of 17.

He won a team gold and an individual gold medal at the 45th Chess Olympiad in 2024 as well as 18 bronze and individual gold medals at the 45th Chase Olympiad in 2022 at the age of 18. He became the youngest candidate tournament winner and subsequently the world chess champion by defeating Ding Liren a (Chinese player age of 32) to at the World Chess Championship 2024 in Singapore.

He is a multiple gold medalist at the “World Youth Championship 2018-20 “and the “Asian Youth Championship 2018 ” and also hold the honors of the Silver Medalist at “Asian Game 2022”.

Birth and Background

Gukesh was born on 29 May 2006 in Chennai into a Telugu family from Andhra Pradesh his mother Padma is a Prf. of Microbiologist while his father Rajnikant is an ENT Surgeon he learned to play chess at the age of 7.

His father left his profession aside and paid full attention to him. His father had recognized the championship given to him since childhood and he knew that one day his son would make a big history fame for us. Today that day has come, this time. The title of Grand Master FIDE is on his Honors. DN
